This eleven book series is a good alternative to Tales of Adventure. While just as challenging, the stories are more whimsical featuring tales of brave princesses, swashbuckling pirates and even a professional tiger fighter! This is also our only series with a book dedicated to each of the long vowels and their various spellings.
Our most challenging elementary school interest level series, the Tales of Mystery books contain the highest level vocabulary. This series details the adventures of a group of children who are whisked away to a cloud world ran by animals.

The following four series and three novels were written to appeal to older students, however, the series can be used for all ages as they all begin at a 1.0 reading level. Every book in each series is self contained so your advanced students can start at a later book in any of the series. The novels are contiguous stories and ideally should be read from beginning to end.
